THoHH, Ep. 10: “Silence Lay Steadily”

“Some houses are born bad.”

Spook Factor: 👻👻👻 out of 👻👻👻👻👻

This final episode fills in more of the gaps in the story as we learn the final fate of the Crain clan. The jump scares, creepy characters, and intensity ramped up in this episode to a heartbreaking climax: the entire Crain family reunited. Once they leave the House, there are no more scares, only processing the trauma and trying to learn from past mistakes.

CWs: paranormal phenomena, disturbing imagery (throughout), overdose, blood, self-mutilation, child death, suicide

OWs: drug use (heroin), alcohol, strong language, description of embalming/body preparation process, partial nudity/softcore

Jump Scares (in chronological order):

  1. “If there’s a pony in there, it’s dead.”

  2. “If he’s here, I think I know where to find him.” (intense until “I am home.”)

  3. Steve walks toward Luke.

  4. Luke sees Olivia on the stairs.

  5. “Steve, wait!”

  6. “Shirley!”

What to Expect:

The last episode teases us with a scene from the future as we realize the full effects the house has when the Crain children return. The House knows exactly how to torture each inhabitant - which bruises to poke, which wounds to pour salt into. The Crains’ final words to each other make me cry every time, so be prepared.
